Pilot Research Program
In support of the HRI’s goal to become a national Center of Excellence, the HRI recently released a request for applications (RFA) that will expand the Institute in the area of basic biomedical science with institutional support from the Division of Research ($150,000). Basic biomedical science provides a transformative platform to discover novel pathological and pathophysiological mechanisms that could be rapidly translated into population-specific targets of prevention and treatment. The purpose of the pilot research program is to strategically seed feasibility and proof of concept studies that will lead to the development of novel findings that address one or more health challenges faced by our local, state, or national communities.

The HRI received 7 interdisciplinary applications that will be reviewed by HRI Fellows, research faculty, and Community Advisory Board members. Award recipients will be announced in August 2019. Stay connected with HRI to receive updates concerning the Fall 2019 RFA.
