Dr. Kathryn Freeman Anderson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology. Dr. Anderson’s work primarily focuses on understanding the social sources of health disparities in the United States. In particular, she examines the role of race/ethnicity and urban neighborhood dynamics to analyze how these factors may impact individual health. Her work utilizes Geographic Information Systems, quantitative statistics methods, and social stratification to research the sociology of health and illness, urban sociology, race/ethnicity, and organizations. The HEALTH Research Institute is excited to collaborate with Dr. Anderson and looks forward to the outcomes of her research in sociology and health disparities.
