Trauma and Psychological Stress

Stress is the body’s response to the demands of life. Some stress, such as exercise, is beneficial to our health, but prolonged stress negatively affects health and wellness. Chronic stress can suppress the immune system, disrupt sleep, and impact the digestive and reproductive systems. We examine various types of stress, how it affects certain populations, and then we determine solutions to help individuals manage stress events.
