Arlette Chavez
Arlette earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Public Health and Psychology concentrations from the University of Houston. As a native Houstonian, Arlette’s strong passion for health equity and advocacy are motivated by her experiences with underserved communities and their structural barriers. Her work in Population Health and Healthy Systems research focused on medical mistrust and food insecurity in minority populations. These projects earned Arlette's recognition in national, state-wide, and local conferences, alongside published work in public health and health policy journals. Within her role at the HRI, Arlette will provide institutional and administrative support to promote the Institute's mission and goals.
