Dr. Kathryn Freeman Anderson specializes in the sociology of health and illness, urban sociology, race/ethnicity, and organizations. Her work is generally focused on understanding the social sources of health disparities in the United States. In particular, using quantitative statistical methods and geographic information systems, she examines the role of race/ethnicity and urban neighborhood dynamics to analyze how these factors may affect individual health.
