Antunes Headshot
Assistant Professor

Dinler Amaral Antunes’ research group uses structural bioinformatics methods, such as molecular modeling, molecular docking and molecular dynamics, to investigate protein-ligand interactions with relevant biomedical applications. Since they are constantly pushing the limits of what can be done with available tools, his group is also actively adapting and developing new computational methods to address specific biological problems.

Research Areas

When University of Houston Doctoral Candidate, Jaila Lewis, first heard of a cancer cluster in Houston’s Kashmere Gardens and the Fifth Ward, it ignited an idea. She was inspired to investigate the factors involved that may have led to the proliferation of cancers appearing in children as young as 8-years-old.
