Research Interests
Our research interests have focused on identifying disease biomarkers for autoimmune diseases (particularly lupus nephritis and inflammatory bowel disease) and malignancies (bladder and colorectal cancer). through proteomic scans of various body fluids. Identified markers are evaluated for their therapeutic and biomarker potential, with lead candidates being translated into point of care applications, amenable for home monitoring of the disease. Emerging Pilot Projects include non-invasive monitoring of disease biomarkers, targeted nanoparticle delivery of drugs, microfluidic devices for the isolation of specific immune cells, and the characterization of immune cells within 3D splenoids, as detailed in
