As director of the Sleep and Anxiety Center of Houston (SACH), the overarching focus of my research program is to clarify how sleep-wake processes contribute to mental and physical health across the life span to inform prevention and intervention programs. I am particularly interested in sleep health in marginalized (e.g., racial/ethnic minorities, children in foster care) and elite populations (e.g., astronauts) and whether/how improvements in sleep can buffer against a range of potential negative outcomes.
