Community Education and Outreach Coordinator
Melisa Meza serves as a Community Education and Outreach Coordinator for the HEALTH Research Institute. She graduated from California State University of Los Angeles, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Public Health. Melisa has a background working with culturally diverse and underserved communities. Through her work she has empowered families and communities to take more active roles pertaining to their health. With her unique experience in community organizing, leadership development, health education and promotion, health policy and grassroots organization, she will contribute to the mission of the Health Research Institute and support the goals of the Community Engagement Core (CEC). Melisa hopes to empower and improve the health of Houston’s most vulnerable communities.
